Some time ago, we ran a poll regarding the use of AI-generated art in the subreddit, and the majority of the community voted against allowing it. I want to first thank everyone who participated and shared their thoughts that feedback helped shape our current stance.
However, after reflecting on the evolving tools, the age of the SAO series, and seeing how other fandoms handle AI content, I’d like to propose a trial period where AI art is allowed under specific guidelines.
This isn’t meant to replace fanart or traditional works, but to create an optional space for those who want to use AI to keep the series alive in creative ways.
Here’s how it will work (for now):
• AI art will need to be clearly labeled with an [AI] flair.
• We will dedicate a pinned thread or allow AI posts on certain days only (to be voted on if needed).
• Any AI art must still follow all subreddit rules (no spam, no misleading titles, respectful content only).
• This is a trial period, and we will monitor feedback closely. If it causes more harm than good, we can remove or adjust the policy again.
I’m doing this as a small test to see if there’s space for both AI and traditional works to coexist here.

So long as it isn’t a promotion of something you have to register and/or pay for I’m fine with the art.
I like this as long as the quality is high. Correct number of limbs fingers etc and at least a little care is taken to make sure it’s accurate. Otherwise this sub has 6 posts in the last month total and almost all of them were reposts
